Hardened colored Mg(OH)2 granules delivered onto staircase as viewed through Generation 3 Night Vision Devices
Work on this material was completed in 2005 and consists of reflective grains of nanomaterials that enhance night vision viewing, tracking, and marking of areas over which they settle. The concept of use is to deliver dry particles into an interior area using gun fired or hand thrown non-lethal munitions. Another possible application is as an additive to paints or liquids used to mark various indoor or outdoor areas.
